The General Service Medal 1962 - 2007 is commonly known as the Campaign Service Medal 1962 as was awarded with a minimum of one campaign clasp (in the instance 'North Iraq & South Turkey') and it is believed that a maximum of six clasp have been awarded on one medal

This award was ceased in 1993 as part of the review of the honours syetm and replaced by the Military Cross. The last award being made for Northern Ireland in that year, although other awards were announced later in the London Gazette these were all backdated.
