Description
This classic style will last long in your cellar
with a core of steeped plum
6% and matured for 18 months in 75% new and 25% one-year-old French oak hogsheads (300 liters) and puncheons (500liters)
(worked entirely by hand as the vineyard has a 40% south-facing slope which ensures that it receives plenty of sun)
There are lovely spice nuances present on the cool but ripe nose that combines notes of mineral reduction and tidal pool with those of various white orchard fruit scents
Pierre Girardin, Montrachet other_regions_australia This classic style will last(from Chassagne fruit). Moderately firm reduction overshadows the underlying fruit today. Otherwise there is outstanding volume and power to the more concentrated bigger bodied flavors that retain a lovely sense of refinement and particularly so on the massively persistent finish. As is sometimes the case with very young examples of Montrachet, this will need to add depth to merit the upper end of my projected range but given the extended cellaring
